One of the most recognized cities in the world is Dubai. Development
of various thriving projects are rapid, that is why job opportunities
in all industries are flourishing, no doubt Dubai remains the target
of Filipino workers to get hold of greater income opportunities.
Approximately 85% are expats from different countries, if you want to
be part of the crowd, here's some tips for you.
What to expect -I've worked in other places and as a remark, having a
job in Dubai differs from all other western countries since other
benefits such as living out allowance is considered part of the whole
package by your employer here, generally that is the employment
tradition. What's more attractive working in the UAE is that it's a
totally tax free country, no tax cut in your basic salary and all
things to buy are absolutely duty free.
Recruitment research reveals that increase in job requirement will be
apparent in Dubai this year 2012,
however, basic salary offers will be at least 6% lower than its usual scheme. There are still a lot of job
for Filipinos, with the quality of our work and diligence, we are still preferred worker in selected industries in the market. Although with various labor force rivals, particularly workers from India and China who are exceptionally aggressive in terms of developing their dexterity, it is essential for Pinoys to step up our technical and communication skills in response to efficiency in global competition. The usual failure of Filipinos to find job in Dubai is having lost of focus and direction, always be cautious with job offers
and make sure that it is the job that you want.
Here are some basic tips:
1. Don't go unprepared - Planning abroad is a daunting task, you have
to consider a lot of things, once you're decided, make plans and be
certain to stick with it. Prepare your CV or your winning resume and
gather all documents that you need to support your purpose of getting
the job that you want. Fake documents are a big NO, you might get
away with it initially but it will also cause you to get fired in the
future. Honesty is still the best policy, highlighting your skills
and confidence is the key, falsifying documents will make you uneasy
applying for a job.
Prepare financially, having enough funds is
crucial in order to sustain your application. Find out fees and
related expenses to incur and make your money work for you. While you
are still applying, careful expenses is considered necessary, don't
spend preventable things with obvious no achievement. Most of all,
prepare yourself, make sure you have discussed it with your family,
everyone should know the risk that you are taking, after all your aim
of doing this is to save money and provide ample financial assistance
to your loved ones.
2. Get a passport quick. Make sure you have your authenticated
original birth certificate. Read " Requirements of getting a new passport from DFA"
3. Apply only to registered recruitment agencies – check the
company's legal status in POEA's website. When a recruiter tells you
that the job is guaranteed, that is too good to be true, it's time to
be alarmed, especially when they will ask you for a placement fee,
never fall for that. If you are currently working in the
Philippines, don't quit your job even you are hired by the agency, it
is still the source of your income, remember you need to have enough
money to spend while settling down and some to leave a portion for
your family. The right time to pass on your resignation letter is
when you get the visa stamp in your passport.
4. Visit Dubai – one way to expedite your application is to obtain a
visit visa to UAE and apply from here. Read "How to get a visit visa to Dubai"
